Daily Photo – The Victorian Heritage Precinct

In Oamaru I stopped at a place called Scott’s Brewery. On the drive I had drunk one bottle of water too many and by the time I arrived my bladder was about to explode. Several minutes later having solved what was a pressing issue, I was able to walk freely once more and I emerged from the brewery into bright sunshine. Scott’s Brewery started life in 2007 and has been going strong ever since. Out front people were gathered around tables neatly arranged on the lush green grass enjoying a spot of lunch in the warm sunshine. It all looked very lovely and for a second I was tempted to join them. Instead, I crossed over the street and went for a walk around the well known Victorian Heritage Precinct. A district made up of 19th-century Victorian architecture crafted from local white limestone and is filled with boutique shops, artisan workshops, art galleries and is home to the famed Steampunk HQ.
