Daily Photo: Blue Hour on The Esplanade

My plan was simple. Get up before the crack of dawn and take a sunrise photo that would go down in the annals of time as one of the most wonderful and magical artistic creations ever produced. As I saw it, there was only one small flaw in my plan: people like Cézanne, Picasso, Rembrandt, Monet, Van Gogh, Michelangelo and da Vinci already appear to have a monopoly on this. Besides, the playing field seemed a little unfair. Where Leonardo da Vinci had a painting of the final meal of Jesus Christ with his twelve apostles before his arrest and crucifixion, or Michelangelo had the entire ceiling of the Sistine Chapel inside Vatican City to work with, I had the St Clair Esplanade.
There was, however, one thing I did have that neither da Vinci nor Michelangelo had: a coffee shop nearby, which is where I headed immediately after taking this photo.
