When Charles Rooking Carter was born in Kendal, Westmorland, England, I wonder if it ever occurred to him that he would have a town named after him 18518 kilometres away. I also wonder if he ever imagined that in another 194 years he would be immortalised in a bronze, 2 metre high statue?
