Daily Photo: The Taieri River at Henley

It was a fabulous day to be out and about. The sky was clear, the weather was warm, and the air had a clean, fresh feel about it. I’d been heading to Dunedin Airport on a promise to collect a friend, but with the plane delayed by an hour, I took the opportunity to go exploring.

So, as I rolled through the suburb of Allanton on State Highway 1 and approached the usual airport turn off, I continued on for another ten minutes or so until I reached the settlement of Otokia. There, I spent a rather lovely spring afternoon enjoying the Taieri River as it casually meandered its way towards Henley, a journey I eventually followed myself before having to leave the peaceful surroundings and make my way to Momona Airport.
